So I seem to be having a pretty good year at predicting where the technology is taking us, especially with regards to downloadable content. Yeah yeah... I know. It was inevitable but still. I'll stand on my high horse for a couple minutes if I may ;-) 

It's been rumoured by the LA Times (Yesterday) that Sony will be providing movies and television shows as downloads for the PS3 device. So while the Blu-Ray format may have a limited life with regards to physical disc media (for the mainstream, not me... I Love my Blu) at least Sony is stepping up for downloadable content. I guess since they won the Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD war they are feeling pretty confident. They've got their competition cut out though. Apple, Vudu and of course Microsoft are all fighting for the same share.
